A Not So Young Woman Abroad’s Travel Bucket List

passportI’ve always been afflicted with wanderlust and been interested in far away lands and different cultures. When I was young there was nothing more I wanted to do than to don a backpack and travel the world. My family came a little earlier than I expected and although I love every moment of being a mother, the urge to travel was always there.

Having discovered a few years ago how amazing it is to experience travel as an older woman and the wonderful experiences and sights that are there to be had around the world, I often can’t make up my mind on where to go next. I could put this down to being a Libran or just that I have never really been able to make up my mind when faced with so much choice. So I’ve decided to put together a Bucket List of the places I would like to see in the coming years to give myself some guidance. So here it is – my bucket list as it stands today:

Great Wall of China
Great Wall of China
  • Turkey
  • Scotland
  • China
  • Kenya
  • Vietnam
  • Travel through France again and again
  • See more of Italy
  • A road trip along Route 66 in the US
  • Visit more places in Canada
  • Greece and the Greek Isles
Istanbul

  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Chile
  • Cuba
  • Vienna
  • Prague
  • Amsterdam
  • See more of New Zealand
  • And wherever else my heart wants to take me.

Note to self – better start saving.

I am currently planning my trip to Istanbul for this November, tickets booked, accommodation organized, visa organized, now what to wear and things to see!

What’s on your bucket list?

Happy Travels
